As the days get longer and the nights get shorter, summer is on its way.
To prepare for the humid, hot weather everyone's trying to eat healthier and start exercising.
We gotta do something to shed a few pounds as we reveal more skin and head out to the beach.
I have a better alternative to greasy potato chips and sugar filled sodas.
1) kale chips! I don't know if you've ever heard of these but they are spectacular. It's a healthier choice than gobbling up some lays chips.
Ingredients
KALE, OIL (OLIVE PREFERRED), SALT
Preheat the oven to 270 F. All you gotta do is wash the kale as clean as you can and then dry them off. Then cut them into small pieces and throw them on a baking sheet with some sprinkled salt. Toss the kale in the oven for about 20 minutes or so until they are as crispy as potato chips.
It may not look so appealing but trust me you'll want to eat them every day.
2) Fruit/veggie smoothies
I love an ice cold smoothie down my throat on those sunny days where I feel like I'm melting. If you like Jamba Juice you'll def. like this super easy recipe.
Grab any fruits you have in you're kitchen such as bananas, strawberries, kiwi, etc. Then take out some of your least favorite healthy veggies. You know what I'm talking about, those veggies that your parents always nag on you to eat either it be celery, spinach, kale... ANYTHING at all. If you have any greek yogurt take that out as well. Wash your blender and start to throw in the ingredients, honestly as much and as little as you want of each ingredient. Then take out the ice cube and throw them in. You always need a base for smoothies and in my opinion I love putting in soy milk. You can put in regular milk, coconut water, orange juice, etc. Then start blending away it's easy as that. No unnecessary sugar is needed! ALL NATURAL and ALL PURE HEALTHY AND JUST SIMPY AMAZING. This is a fantastic way to input your daily nutrients/vitamins in your diet. BTW i totally forgot this but trust me you won't be able to taste any of the grotesque veggies that you despise, all you'll taste are the scrumptious fruits you put in.
